Striclyvc in Athens will featured the Prime Minister of Greece

We are delighted to announce that the Prime Minister of Greece, Kyriakos Mitsotakiswill join us in our next Strictlyvc event in Athensco-organized with EffortThursday evening May 8, at the superb cultural center of the Stavros Niarchos Foundation.

For those who may not know its history, Mitsotakis brings a fascinating mixture of experiences at the table. Before entering politics, he worked at McKinsey and Chase Investment Bank, giving him a first -hand experience in the business world that many start -up ecosystem operators can appreciate. The youngest of four children, he also has academic references from Silicon Valley – he went to Harvard, then to Stanford for a master’s degree in international relations, and finally caught an MBA at the Harvard Business School – and said that his education has long shaped his vision of the future of Greece.

Mitsotakis also defends the technological transformation of Greece for many years. In fact, after sailing in the country through the pandemic, he doubled on the positioning of Athens as an emerging technological center, recently introducing initiatives aimed at attracting international talents, in particular tax incentives and reforms aimed at reducing bureaucratic administrative formalities for new companies.

The Prime Minister comes from a political family – his father was Prime Minister and his sister was mayor of Athens – but he dug his own reputation as a reformer focused on the modernization of the Greek economy. Its administration is particularly interested in how technology can help diversify traditional Greek forces renowned such as shipping and tourism.
