The demonstrators of the demand for Rome of Italy finish the War of Israel in Gaza | News Israel-Palestine Conflict

Hundreds of thousands of demonstrators walked in the streets of the Italian capital, Rome, against the war in Gaza in a demonstration called by the main Italian opposition parties, which accuse the right -wing government of being too silent.

At the beginning of March on Saturday, the demonstrators held a banner, reading: “Stop the massacre, stop the complicity!”

The demonstration attracted a diversified crowd from across the country, including many families with children.

According to the organizers, up to 300,000 people participated in the rally organized by the left opposition to request the government a clear position on the conflict in Gaza.

“This is an enormous popular response to say enough about the massacre of the Palestinians and the crimes of the government of Netanyahu de (Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin),” the head of the center-left center in Italy told journalists.

“There is another Italy which does not remain silent as the government of Meloni does,” she said, referring to Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni.

Meloni has recently been pushed by the opposition to publicly condemn the Netanyahu offensive in Gaza, but many observers have considered its criticism that is too timid.

Earlier this week, the Italian leader urged Israel to immediately stop his military campaign in Gaza, saying that his attacks had developed in a disproportionate manner and had to be put at the end to protect civilians.

Israel faces international criticism for its offensive and pressure to allow Gaza to help during a humanitarian crisis.

Gaza has been under an Israeli blockade for almost three months, experts warning that many of its two million residents are running a high risk of famine.

The War of Israel against Gaza killed at least 54,772 Palestinians and injured 125,834, according to the Gaza Ministry of Health. It is estimated that 1,139 people were killed in Israel during the attacks led by Hamas on October 7, 2023 and more than 200 were taken in captivity.
