Flights are interrupted at Vnukovo and Domodovo airports in Moscow in the middle of security problems after drone attacks.
The Russian forces have shot 10 Ukrainian drones heading to Moscow, according to the city mayor, Sergei Sobyanin, while Ukraine reports at least one person killed in Russian attacks.
On Sunday, there was no damage to Moscow, but the Ukrainian attack led to a short-term fire at the nitrogen chemical factory in the neighboring region of Tula, injuring two people and seven drones were destroyed above the Kaluga region, regional governors said.
Rosaviatssia, Civil Russia Aviation Authority, said on Telegram that to ensure airline safety, it interrupted thefts at the Vnukovo and Domodovo airports in Moscow and near Kaluga (Grabsevo). They were then reopened.
Drone’s attack was made while Kyiv launched a Unprecedented drone operation Last weekend, deep inside Russia, targeting military planes with nuclear complacency in the Russian air bases. Moscow has promised to retaliate, triggering an attack dam in recent days.
Early Sunday, Russian air attacks struck several locations across Ukraine. At least one person was killed in the industrial region of Dnipropetrovsk, which was affected by drones, artillery and rocket launchers, according to the head of the regional council.
“The invaders struck … The Synelnykivsky District with a guided air bomb. A man was killed. Our sincere condolences to his family,” said Mykola Lukashuk.
“Five private houses and a kindergarten have also been damaged,” he added.
In the Dnipropetrovsk Nikopol district, a company, four houses and electric lines have been damaged, he said.
Later Sunday, Russia said that its land forces had pushed Dnipropetrovsk for the first time in its three -year offensive in Ukraine.
The Russian Ministry of Defense said that the forces of a tan unit “reached the western border of the People’s Republic of Donetsk and continue to develop an offensive in the Dnipropetrovsk region”, referring to the part of the Donetsk region owned by rebels supported by Russia since 2014.
There was no immediate commentary on Ukraine on the declaration of Russia.
In addition to a decade of conflict with the separatists supported by the Kremlin and the Russian army, Ukraine has never had to fight on the territory of the central region so far.
Dnipropetrovsk is an important mining and industrial center for Ukraine, and deeper Russian advances in the region could have a serious training effect for the army and the kyiv difficulty economy.
It is estimated that it has a population of around three million inhabitants before Russia launched its large -scale war against Ukraine in February 2022.
Ukrainian military staff previously told the AFP news agency that Russia could progress relatively quickly in the largely flat region, since there are fewer obstacles or natural villages which could be used as defensive positions by kyiv forces.
Also Sunday, Russian forces struck villages in the neighboring southern regions of Zaporizhia and Kherson, injuring two civilians, said local officials.
Russia has accelerated its progress in recent weeks, the latest negotiations in the Turkish city in Istanbul have failed to end the war.
The sides at war are accused of delaying An exchange of large -scale prisoners – The only concrete result of talks in Istanbul.
The exchange of prisoners, originally which should take place this weekend, would see more than 1,000 people released on each side.
But Moscow accused kyiv on Saturday of not accepting an appointment to exchange the soldiers captured while Ukraine said that Russia played “dirty games” by not sticking to the parameters agreed for the exchange.
