Struggle

• France provides for European partners to suggest a negotiated solution to put an end to the conflict between Iran and Israel, said the country’s presidency, after President Emmanuel Macron presided over a meeting of the Security and National Security Council.
• Macron said that the change of military regime in Iran is a strategic error, according to the spokesman for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
• Iran’s mission to the United Nations has requested an emergency meeting from the United Nations Security Council, saying that the situation “dangerously degenerated due to an undeniable assembly and evidence of direct involvement in the United States”.
• The UN chief Antonio Guterres said that he remained “deeply alarmed” and reiterated calls for an “immediate de-escalation leading to a cease-fire”.
• The German Chancellor Friedrich Merz defended his comments, which attracted indignation in certain quarters, calling the attacks of Israel against Iran as “a dirty work that Israel does for all of us”.
