President Donald Trump Two -week chronology Deciding if the United States strikes Iran’s nuclear sites is familiar – this is the one he has used several times since his first mandate.
“Based on the fact that there is substantial chances of negotiations which may or may not occur with Iran in the near future, I will decide or not in the next two weeks,” he said in a statement published by the White House press secretary, Karoline Leavitt.
Trump promised an action on questions or decisions in “two weeks” over a dozen times in the past two months, according to a NBC News review – and he used the same calendar several times during his first mandate.
“We are going to announce something, I would say over the next two or three weeks, which will be phenomenal in terms of tax and development of our aeronautical infrastructure,” said Trump about tax overhaul plans on February 9, 2017.
He published an overview of a page of the plan 11 weeks later, according to a Bloomberg this year’s examination.
He then repeatedly cited the deadline for imminent actions on health care and infrastructure that have never been materialized in the first four years in power.
The use by Trump of the synchronization prediction has accelerated in recent weeks – and it has used it on articles ranging from agreements and commercial prices to the Russian -Ukraine conflict. Much of what he has planned did not arrive, with questions he said he would answer unanswered.
The White House did not immediately respond to a request for comments.
Addressing the oval journalists on April 23, Trump said that the country was going to have “good business” on trade.
“And by the way, if we do not have an agreement with a company or a country, we will define the price. We have simply put the price. This is something we think – that will happen, I say, over the next two weeks, don’t you say? I think yes,” said Trump. “Over the next two, three weeks. We will define the number. And we will choose – could be for China too.”
At a meeting of the oval office of April 24 with Norwegian Prime Minister Jonas Gahr Støre, Trump was invited to have continued him to provide military information and help from Ukraine if there was no peace agreement with Russia.
“Let’s see what is happening. I think we are going to conclude an agreement, and if we conclude an agreement, it will be wonderful. We will not have to worry about your question. You can ask this question in two weeks, and we will see. But I think we are getting closer,” said Trump.
Questioned by journalists on April 27 if he had trusted Russian President Vladimir Putin, taking into account the increased attacks on Ukraine while Trump called for a cease-fire, the president said: “We will inform you in about two weeks.”
In an interview broadcast on May 4 on NBC News’ “Meet the pressKristen Welker asked Trump to find out if he had misunderstood Putin’s position on the Russian war with Ukraine.
“No, I’m going to talk to you in a month in a month in a month, or in two weeks.
Trump told journalists on May 4 on Air Force One that he would “establish” a commercial agreement with China.
“At one point in the next two or three weeks, I will conclude the agreement. I will say that this or that country has had a huge excess of exchange, a surplus of their path, with us. They took advantage of us in various ways,” said Trump.
Asked on May 5 in the oval office if he had decided rates of prices and timing for pharmaceutical companies, Trump said: “I did it. I will announce it in the next two weeks.”
Asked about these same prices on Tuesday, Trump said: “We are going to make pharmaceutical products very quickly. “”
During a meeting of May 6 with Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney in the Oval Office, Trump suggested that a number of commercial transactions were imminent.
“We also have a situation, because everyone says, when, when? When are you going to sign offers? We don’t have to sign offers. We could sign 25 offers at the moment, Howard (Lunick, the Secretary of Commerce), if we wanted it. We do not want to sign offers.” So we can simply sit down, and I will do it at a time. “
Trump was questioned in Abu Dhabi on May 16 when he met Putin to discuss the end of the war. “As soon as we can install it,” replied Trump. “And I think that in, uh, two or three weeks, we might be a much safer place.”
During a round business table on May 16 in Abu Dhabi, Trump said that he would soon establish the terms of the trade agreements he wanted, and that the secretary in Lunick and the Treasury Scott Bessent would inform business partners.
“So, at a point in the next two to three weeks, I think Scott and Howard will send letters, essentially saying to people that it will not be very fair. But we will say to people what they will pay to do business in the United States. They will pay essentially to do business in the United States,” said the president.
Asked on May 19 in the oval office if the Ukrainian president Volodymyr Zelenskyy was doing enough to help the war, Trump said: “I prefer to tell you in about two weeks because I can’t say yes or no.
“I think – look, it’s a strong person, Zelenskyy, a strong guy and he is not the easiest person to manage, but I think he wants to stop. He is a very bad thing that happens there. I think he wants to stop, but I could better answer this question in two or four weeks from now on.”
Trump was asked again if he thought Putin wanted to end the war while responding to journalists from the oval office on May 28.
“I can’t tell you, but I will let you know about two weeks, in the two weeks. We will discover it very soon. We will find out whether or not we are. And whether it is, we will answer a little differently. But it will take about a week and a half, two weeks,” said Trump.
After praising a preliminary trade agreement with China, Trump was questioned at the Kennedy Center which country he expected to sign an agreement with then.
“Well, we are dealing in Japan. We are dealing in South Korea. We are dealing with many.
Press secretary Karoline Leavitt started her briefing on Thursday by discussing Potential involvement of the United States in the conflict of Israel with Iran.
“Regarding the current situation in Iran, I know that there have been a lot of speculation among you all in the media concerning the president’s decision-making and if the United States will be directly involved,” she said. “In the light of this news, I have a message directly from the president, and I quote:” Based on the fact that there is substantial chances of negotiations which may or may not occur with Iran in the near future, I will decide or not to pass or not in the next two weeks. “It is a directly of the president for all of you today.”
