Iran promises reprisals after we hit the nuclear sites; Trump claims success

Iran sent a press release to Trump in the days preceding last night’s strikes on its nuclear installations threatening to activate the terror of sleeping cells in the United States if it was attacked, sources said.

The message was given to Trump through an intermediary during the Summit of the Group of Seven in Canada last week, which Trump left on June 16 to examine his options in the middle of the conflict between Israel and Iran, according to sources that include two US officials and a person knowing the threat.

The White House did not respond to several requests for comments, and the Iranian mission to the United Nations refused to comment.

Trump swore yesterday on social networks that all Iranian reprisals against the United States “will be encountered with a much greater force than what was observed this evening”.

Its administration, as well as law enforcement organizations in key cities, are on high alert for any potential reprisals in the United States.

The Ministry of Internal Security warned today in a statement that “the Iranian conflict causes an increased threat environment in the United States”.

The press release said there may be an increased possibility of terrorist attacks in the American homeland, in particular “if Iranian leaders have issued a religious decision calling for the violence of reprisals against the targets in the fatherland”. He also declared that Iran could launch cyber attacks on American networks and target current and former representatives of the American government that Tehran blame for the assassination in 2020 of the Iranian first general, Qasem Soleimani.

Iran has struggled to organize operations in the United States in the past.

Vice-president JD Vance said today that on the “meeting” of NBC News, according to which the administration examined the possibility of a “very close” fatherland attack and that it expressed the confidence that the police can manage the threat.

A concern, he said, is the lack of “full accounting” of those who may have entered the country during the mandate of President Joe Biden without appropriate verification. “We know that some of these people appeared on terrorism surveillance lists,” said Vance.

A European diplomat working on Iran’s issue has said that the United States and its allies also believe that Iran has the capacity to attack European and American nationals beyond American soil and beyond the Middle East.
