A new test that reveals an abnormal uterus The lining can help women who have repeated unexplained false layersSaid British scientists.
They say that the results should pave the way for new treatments for some Women who live recurrent loss of pregnancy.
The researchers said they discovered that miscarriage The risk can be traced to a problem with the lining of the uterus before pregnancyAfter previous studies were mainly focused on the quality of the embryo, overlooking the role of the uterus.
About one in six pregnancy is lost, mainly before 12 weeks, and each miscarriage increases the risk of another loss of pregnancy.
Pregnancy and charity for babies Tommy’s said that discoveries should provide explanations for loss of pregnancy as well as treatments to prevent “trauma and devastation of a recurring miscarriage”.
The main author, Dr. Joanne Mute, said: “It is a question of identifying the avoidable false strata. Many women are informed that they have just had” bad luck “, but our results show that the uterus itself could prepare the ground for the loss of pregnancy, even before the design occurs.”
The study – led by the University of Warwick and the Coventry and Warwickshire (UHCW) NHS Trust university hospitals with the funding of the Tommy’s pregnancy charity – was published Thursday in Science Advances, after more than 1,500 biopsies of more than 1,300 women.
The team noted that an essential biological process called “decisive reaction”, which prepares the Ulaise lining for pregnancy each month, often does not progress properly in women with a history of miscarriage. This creates an unstable environment which, while allowing implantation embryos, increases the risk of bleeding and loss of early pregnancy.
Scientists have therefore developed a test which can measure the response of the uterus mucosa, which is controlled to support more than 1,000 patients at Tommy’s National Center for Fishriage Research in UHCW.
Author’s principal teacher Jan Brosens said: “It is well established that chromosomal errors in embryos explain the increase in miscarriage rates in women over 35 years of age. This study shows that each miscarriage increases the risk of implantation of embryos in a lining of the abnormal uterus, regardless of age.
“Thus, the frequency of one of the two events – an abnormal embryo or an abnormal decisive reaction – occurring on hundreds of menstrual cycles determines the probability of miscarriage in each individual woman. Above all, we now have the tools to detect the risk of avoidable miscarriage and to assess the treatments that improve the uterus before pregnancy. ”
Holly Milikouris, who made five false layers, described the new test as “who changes life”.
After revealing that her belly lining prepared abnormally for pregnancy, she underwent treatment and continued to have two healthy children, George, three years old and Heidi, 17 months, with her husband Chris.
Ms. Milikouris, a Cheshire official, said, “My false layers were” missed “, which means that there was no symptoms to let us know that there was a problem. We discovered when I went for a scan and that one grew up to fear the analyzes.
“We felt lost and start to accept that I could never have succeeded in pregnancy. The treatments that can generally help women who have made false diapers had not worked for us and whenever we were trying again, we felt like diced with the baby’s life.
“Having the opportunity to participate in this test has changed life. For the first time, the results of my biopsy were normal, and we continued not to have one, but two successful pregnancies. We can never thank Professor Brosens enough and hope that the results of this revolutionary study will help many other families. ”
