Riley Testut, the developer behind the Robust Delta Emulator application For iOS, announced a new iPhone application Designed to reproduce the Game Boy camera accessory, but with “the features you expect from a modern camera application”. The complete list of Delta Camera application features has not yet been revealed, but it is currently available for beta tests to those who Subscribe to Patreon of testingwhich starts at $ 3 / month, or $ 30.24 / year, before a full release later this year.
The application will reproduce the low resolution and the monochromatic aesthetics of the Game Boy camera cartridge which made its debut in 1998 with a CMOS 128 x 128 pixel sensor which could capture images of 0.001434MP in just four shades of gray. The Delta camera will allow it to be adjusted to the brightness and contrast of the images and can capture several stages panoramas, but also adds manual exposure and zoom options, the option to use the front or rear cameras of the iPhone, and complete support for the camera control button introduced on the iPhone 16 range.
This could be a fun solution for those who are missing the experience of the Boy game camera. The accessory is always compatible with modern pocket computers with a cartridge slit like the Analog pocketBut an application version on iOS will facilitate the sharing of images and will publish them on social networks.
