Newcastle United have now submitted an offer for an “superb” international striker, with a given answer in the last 24 hours.
The Magpies had a frustrating summer in 2024, with both Eddie Howe And Paul Mitchell would have been disappointed with the lack of funds available.
Howe He spoke much more positively about how the current transfer window can take place in St James’ Park, however, discussing the “different mentality” within the club.
“Yes, the difference in mentality, really, for where we were, knowing that we, once last year, we were in a sales position, we had to increase the income. And it is a completely different state of mind to be in the one we are now, with a different state of mind and different possibilities.
“It’s a great summer for us because each transfer window is great. You want to go, preferably, in the new season with a stronger team than the one with which you have entered. And it’s always the challenge.”
Newcastle would have opened discussions with Brighton Strike Joao Pedro During a summer visit to St James’ Park, and now there has been new development.
According to The telegraph‘S Luke Edwards, Newcastle launched an offer of around 50 million pounds sterling for Pedroas well as movements for Anthony Elaga and James Trafford.
The Brazilian at 3 caps is considered a strong option to provide additional fire power to the attack on Howe this summer, after having been in the Premier League last season, but the Times have since revealed Newcastle’s offer for Pedo has been rejected.
Pedro would be a brilliant signature for Newcastle if they go up their offer, bringing something different to the attack to Alexander Isak, in terms of deep fall and liaison with the midfield.
The 23 -year -old has an impressive count of 30 goals in 70 appearances For Brighton, as well as to warm up with 10 assists, and he should not grow as a footballer by being surrounded by superior quality players.
The quality of Pedro has not been lost in Newcastle legend Alan ShearerThe Englishman praising aspects of his game during a performance last season.
“It is for me a brilliant objective in the central center. The way he follows him and he expects the rebound to happen. He reacts before someone else does it, then he got his reward. His restraint was superb at times when he had to keep the ball and put his teammates in play.”
It remains to be seen if Newcastle will manage to finish the signature of Pedro this summer – Brighton is naturally desperate to keep it – but it is the player’s caliber that the club must bring.
