Aldrich Potgieter will take a two -stroke advance in the last round of the Rocket Classic with major champions Collin Morikawa and Matthew Fitzpatrick among the hunting pack

Potgieter – Looking at a first title of PGA Tour after losing against Brian Campbell in a match for the qualifiers at the Mexico Open in February – obtained a 65 under 65 in his third round at the Detroit Golf Club.

The 20-year-old South African failed six of his first eight holes, including five in a row.

Potgieter is seated 19 under the event with its closest Challengers five Americans out of 17 under – Max Greserman, Andrew Putnam, Jake Knapp, Mark Hubbard and Chris Kirk.

Knapp brirda in his last three holes to sign for a 66, after having seized the record for Potgieter’s journey on Friday with an 11-mine of 61, a day after the young South African recorded a 10 under 62.

Morikawa is four shots on the drift of Potgieter out of 15 sub -sous – the same brand as Harry Hall in England – after firing four sous Saturday, with Hall compatriot, Fitzpatrick, corresponding to the third round efforts of Morikawa to rest five against 14.

Morikawa and Fitzpatrick have been without victory on the PGA Tour since 2023, when the former triumphed in the Zozo championship and the second at the RBC Heritage.

The American Davis Thompson is alongside Fitzpatrick on 14 under after a 66 of the third round which included three Eagles on his first nine.
