The former drummer of England and Northampothire Wayne Larkins died at the age of 71 after a short illness.
Larkins, popularly known as NED, represented England in 13 tests and 25 internationals of one day between 1979 and 1991, marking 1,084 points in total.
The best international rounds of right -handed were the 124 that he struck in an ODI against Australia in Hyderabad in 1989, while he was also part of the team that reached the 1979 World Cup final against the Antilles in Lord’s.
At the national level, Larkins has accumulated more than 700 appearances for the Northamptonshire through first class and a day formats and has scored nearly 30,000 points for the county.
He then joined Durham, then continued to play in the minor counties of Bedfordshire and Huntingdonshire before retiring in 2001.
Throughout his career, Larkins won 59 hundred and 26 first class in a cricket.
Northampothire said: “Undoubtedly one of the most exciting and naturally talented English -level drummers of his generation, he feared anyone with the new ball and could not inflict serious damage to the best.”
Larkins’ wife, Debbie said: “Ned loved everyone he met and everyone loved him. People were attracted by his contagious energy. He turned on each room and never wanted the party to end.
“He loved his soul mate of a woman and her precious girls so much. He will celebrate in the sky, drinking a toast to everyone and his own life.
“We are devastated but we will never forget its undeniably unique presence and its impact on our lives. We will carry it in our hearts forever.”
