Chelsea concluded an agreement with Borussia Dortmund to sign Jamie Gittens for costs worth 55.5 million pounds sterling (65 million euros).
The discussions have progressed in the United States, where the two teams participate in the Club World Cup and, although Bayern Munich is also interested, an agreement has now been agreed for the 20-year-old to move to Stamford Bridge for a seven-year contract.
Earlier this month, Dortmund refused an offer worth 42 million pounds sterling, and the two clubs could not conclude an agreement before the conclusion of the first window on June 10.
A possible agreement between the two parties comes in the middle of the West London Club research to strengthen the vast zones following the decision Do not take the opportunity to sign Jadon Sancho constantly.
The winger is ready for a medical with the blues, but if the move is finalized before the end of the club World Cup, it will not be allowed to appear for the side of Enzo Maresca.
FIFA rules indicate that a player cannot play for two teams during the tournament, Gittens appearing in the first Dortmund group match against Fluminense.
England U21 International contributed 12 goals and five assists in 48 games in all competitions for Dortmund last season.
Gittens has already been affiliated with Stamford Bridge’s outfit, after being in Chelsea’s books as a youth player before spending Manchester City.
He moved to Germany in 2020, according to the traces of Jadon Sancho, and burst into the Dortmund team in 2022.
Gittens also made 11 appearances for those under 21 in England, but was not included in the Lee Carsley team for the European Championships.
The return of Gittens to English football will see him compete with a place in the side of Enzo Maresca with Pedro Neto and Noni Madueke, who currently occupy wide positions.
With Chelsea agreeing to sign Gittens, the 20-year-old winger seems to be a Premier League player, but his route there was a little different.
In conversation with coaches and teammates, we analyze the reasons for his ascent and what could come for him to Stamford Bridge.
