The former Manchester United midfielder Paul Pogba signed for Ligue 1 as Monaco on a two -year contract.
The move of the 2018 World Cup winner in France marks the return of Pogba to football after seven months without a club. The midfielder was a free agent after accepting mutual termination of his Juventus contract in November of last year.
In a statement on their website, the Ligue 1 club announced: “While Monaco is delighted to announce the arrival of Paul Pogba. The French world champion has signed a 2 seasons contract and is now linked to the principality until June 30, 2027.”
Juventus decided to separate from Pogba after an initial prohibition of four years in February 2024 for a doping offense was reduced to 18 months.

The 32-year-old man was free to return to football in March when the 18-month period began at the time of his provisional ban, which was published in September 2023. However, Pogba has not made a professional appearance since, with his last coming as a substitute in a 2-0 victory for Juventus on Empoli.
The midfielder left Old Trafford in 2022 during a free transfer to return to Juventus and continued to make 12 appearances during his second fate in Turin.
Pogba will bind with the former defender of Tottenham and Bayern Munich, Eric Dier, who also joined the Ligue 1 club during a free transfer this summer.
Monaco finished third in Ligue 1 last season, behind the Paris Saint-Germain and Marseille champions, and hope that the arrival of the World Cup winner could help fill the gap up the table.
