The former Manchester United midfielder Paul Pogba signed for Ligue 1 as Monaco on a two -year contract.

The move of the 2018 World Cup winner in France marks the return of Pogba to football after seven months without a club. The midfielder was a free agent after accepting mutual termination of his Juventus contract in November of last year.

In a statement on their website, the Ligue 1 club announced: “While Monaco is delighted to announce the arrival of Paul Pogba. The French world champion has signed a 2 seasons contract and is now linked to the principality until June 30, 2027.”

Juventus decided to separate from Pogba after an initial prohibition of four years in February 2024 for a doping offense was reduced to 18 months.

The 32-year-old man was free to return to football in March when the 18-month period began at the time of his provisional ban, which was published in September 2023.
