The NBA cooperates with a federal investigation into the Detroit Pistons Malik Beasley goalkeeper, NBA spokesman Mike Bass said in a statement.
The Pistons also said they were aware of the investigation, but that the team had no other information.
The details of the probe were not immediately clear.
Beasley, who played last season with the Pistons, is currently a free agent. We do not know how the investigation will affect its perspectives.
Steven A. Haney, Beasley’s lawyer, stressed in a statement that the investigation is not an indictment or a criminal accusation and that Beasley has not been accused of reprehensible acts at the moment.
Beasley “has the presumption of innocence like anyone else,” said Haney.
Beasley has played in a number of NBA teams in her professional career, including Milwaukee Bucks, Los Angeles Lakers, Utah Jazz, Minnesota Timberwolves and Denver Nuggets.
