Two lawyers listed in judicial documents representing Morphew at the Tuesday hearing, David Beller and Jane Fisher-Byrialsen, did not immediately return phone messages or e-mail asking for comments. Beller previously criticized the prosecutors for allowing “their predetermined conclusion to direct their search for evidence”.

The mystery surrounding Suzanne Morphew began when the mother of two 49 -year -old daughters, who lived near the small community of Mountain de Salida, Colorado, was missing the day of the 2020.

Her mountain bike and helmet were found in separate places not far from her house, but the investigators suspected that the bicycle had been deliberately thrown into a ravine because there was no indication of an accident. A week after the disappearance of his wife, Barry Morphe published a video on Facebook pleading for his return safely and the case quickly attracted attention.

A judge had prohibited prosecutors from calling key witnesses after the lawyers were not repeatedly respected the rules for the delivery of evidence in favor of Morphew.

The last case is continued by another prosecutor in a separate judicial district where the remains of Suzanne Morphew were found, a rural area about 40 miles south of the Morphes’ home.

Investigators found a port on the site through which Suzanne Morphew could receive medication to treat follicular lymphoma, a type of blood cancer she had. They also found bicycle clothes similar to what it was known to wear.

Based on the state of remains and clothing, a medical anthropologist hypothesized that the body was probably decomposed elsewhere before being moved to the site, according to the new act of accusation of Morphew.
