The comments of the Minister of Foreign Affairs are taking place as the G7 calls for negotiations on an agreement to approach the Iranian nuclear program.

The Iranian Minister of Foreign Affairs, Abbas Araghchi, excluded a rapid resumption of talks with the United States after President Donald Trump said we Negotiations with Tehran could restart this week.

Araghchi’s comments on CBS Eventing News on Monday came when the G7 foreign ministers published a declaration requesting a dialogue on an agreement to slow down the Iran nuclear program.

Iran and the United States were HOLDING TALKS On the Tehran nuclear program when Israel has launched attacks against Iranian nuclear and military infrastructure. The United States then joined Israel’s attacks, bombing Ford, Natanz and Isfahan sites on June 21.

Tehran insists that his program is peaceful, but the United States and Israel say they want to make sure that Iran cannot build a nuclear weapon.

Araghchi said the negotiations would not start as quickly as Trump said and Iran for the first time needed insurance against other attacks.

“So that we decide to re -engage, we must first make sure that America will not amount to targeting us in a military attack during negotiations,” said the minister.

“I think that with all these considerations, we still need more time,” he said, although “the doors of diplomacy will never close”.

The Trump administration requests interviews with Iran after the American president, during his first mandate, abandoned an agreement that his predecessor signed with Tehran in 2015, which reduced the nuclear program in exchange for the relief of the sanctions. As part of this agreement, Iran was authorized to enrich uranium less than 3.67% purity for fuel used in commercial nuclear power plants.

After Trump abandoned the agreement, Iran responded by producing uranium enriched at 60%, above the levels for civil use but still below the weapon note.

Trump said American attacks had “erased” Iran’s nuclear sites, and senior officials said it would be almost impossible for the country to resuscitate its atomic program.

Araghchi, however, rejected this assertion.

“We cannot erase technology and science for enrichment by bomb attacks,” he told CBS. “If there is this desire on our part, and that the will exists in order to progress again in this industry, we can quickly repair the damage and compensate for lost time.”

Since the American and Israeli attacks and the cease-fire that followed, Iran has suspended its cooperation with the International Atomic Energy Agency (AIEA) because of what Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian called on the “destructive” behavior of the agency to the country on Monday.

Al Jazeera’s resul Serdar, reporting from Tehran, said tensions increased between Iran and IAEA.

“They (the Iranians) say that they will allow inspectors that inspectors once they have obtained the nuclear sites” that have been bombed by the United States and Israel, said Serdar.

The Foreign Ministers of the group of seven nations, on the other hand, said that they supported the ceasefire between Iran and Israel, and that the negotiations between Tehran and Washington are reproducing.

“We are calling for the resumption of negotiations, which leads to a complete, verifiable and sustainable agreement which is aimed at an Iranian nuclear program,” said G7 foreign ministers on Monday.

The ministers also urged “all parties to avoid actions that could further destabilize the region”.
