The icon of Music Dolly Parton opened this week on his difficulties with the writing of songs after the death of her husband.
The husband of the country singer, Carl Thomas Deandied in March at the age of 82.
Parton, 79, sat with Khloé Kardashian for an episode From his podcast, “Khloé In Wonder Land”, to discuss his work, past, present and future.
Asked about her many talents – including the theater, singing and writing of songs – and if she feels closer to one of them than others, the artist said they were all important to her, but the writing of songs is what she feels most connected.
“I love having the impression of being able to create something, to leave something in the world today that was not there yesterday,” said Parton to Kardashian, adding that her writing makes her feel connected to God.
Parton also discussed the fact of feeling the writer’s block and not finishing the writing projects of songs that she launched.
“My husband died three months ago – when you asked me if there were things I started, I haven’t finished, several things I wanted to start but I can’t do it,” said Parton. “I will do it later, but I just found such wonderful and beautiful ideas, but I think I will not finish it.”
The musician continued that she could not undertake these projects at the moment because she has “so many other things” and she “cannot afford the luxury of obtaining this emotion at the moment”. Parton said that she will write other songs if they come to her, adding that the writing of songs is her “joy” which also happens to be her work.
Dean, a businessman from Nashville, and Parton married in 1966 after meeting two years ago, and kept their relationship out of the public.
“Carl and I have spent many wonderful years together. Words cannot do justice to the love we have shared for over 60 years,” said Parton in a statement Shared after his death. “Thank you for your prayers and your sympathy.”
A few days later, Parton published a sincere message Thanking those who contacted her after his death.
“It is a note of love to family, friends and fans. Thank you for all the messages, cards and flowers that you sent to pay tribute to the loss of my beloved husband Carl,” wrote Parton. “I cannot personally reach out to each of you, but I just know that it told me the world. He’s in the arms of God now and I agree with that. I will always love you. “
The singer “Jolene” also released An emotional ballad Honoring her late husband, “if you hadn’t been there.”
The song returns to love and the support that Parton has received from Dean throughout their marriage.

In an Instagram post announcing the release of the song, Parton said that she fell in love with Dean at the age of 18.
