Kim Jong, one underlines the alliance Pyongyang-Moscow during the visit of the Russian Minister of Foreign Affairs, Sergey Lavrov, in North Korea.
The North Korean leader Kim Jong One declared to the first Diplomat of Russia that Pyongyang was ready to “unconditionally supporting” all the measures taken by Moscow in his war against Ukraine, reports the state media, while the two countries organized high-level strategic talks.
The Russian Minister of Foreign Affairs, Sergey Lavrov, is in three days Visit to North Koreawhich provided troops and weapons for the war of Russia against Ukraine and promised more military support while Moscow tries to make progress in the conflict.
Kim met Lavrov, in the eastern coastal city of Wonsan, where Lavrov and his North Korean counterpart, Choe his Hui, held their second strategic dialogue, promising a new cooperation under a partnership treaty signed last year which includes a mutual defense pact.
Kim told Lavrov that the measures taken by the Allies in response to the radical development of world geopolitics would greatly contribute to ensuring peace and security in the world, the Korée de North Korea reported KCNA.
“Kim Jong one reaffirmed that the RPDC is ready to support unconditionally and to encourage all the measures taken by Russian leaders with regard to the fight against the deep cause of the Ukrainian crisis,” said KCNA, using the acronym of the country’s official name, the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea.
The Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs has published a video on Telegram of the two men shaking hands and greeting with a hug.
The North Korean chief also expressed a “firm conviction that the Russian army and the people would surely win the victory to fulfill the sacred cause of the defense of the dignity and fundamental interests of the country”.
The two men otherwise discussed “important questions for the faithful implementation of the agreements concluded at the historic Summit of the RPDC-Russia in June 2024,” KCNA said.
Relations between Russia and North Korea have detonated considerably during the last two years of the war in Ukraine, which began with the invasion of Russia on the scale of its neighbor in February 2022, Pyongyang moving more than 10,000 soldiers and weapons to support Moscow.
The two strongly sanctioned nations signed a military agreement last year, including a mutual defense clause, during a rare visit by Russian President Vladimir Putin in North Korea.
Lavrov told Kim that Putin “hopes continuous direct contacts in the very close future,” according to the Russian press agency in the TASS state.
Before the visit, Russia announced that it would start flights twice a week between Moscow and Pyongyang.
Lavrov praised Wonsan as “a good tourist attraction”, adding: “We hope that it will be popular not only with local citizens, but also Russians”.
