The US Daily Pugnace Tabloid of the Murdoch family heads for California.
The New York Post Media Group said on Monday that it launched a newspaper on the west coast in the style of its homonymous periodical of the East Coast. California Post will be a daily newspaper in the New York Post mold, with An early cover model Based on its usual and heavy titles and the interests of cultural war: Sydney Sweeney with the title “We dream of Jean-Y”.
The expansion of the Murdoch family company, which also includes Fox News Parent Fox Corp., is among the biggest movements since Lachlan Murdoch took control From the Media Empire built by his father, Rupert Murdoch, 94, in 2023.
News Corp., who publishes the post, also faces a considerable trial by President Donald Trump against one of his other articles, the Wall Street Journal, linked to an article on Trump’s relationship with Jeffrey Epstein.
The New York Post, which has published since 1801, has remained a conservative voice in a region elsewhere on the left, undergoing the ups and downs of the modern media by standing for its forces: splashed titles and aggressive relationships on crime, politics and local sports, as well as a avowed right perspective.
California – Los Angeles in particular – has become a flash point in American culture and politics. Important demonstrations against immigration raids and the comments of Quippy of Governor Gavin Newsom made the state a target of Trump’s anger.
The CEO of News Corp., Robert Thomson, hosted his head at the post and his slope in a press release for the California newspaper.
“Los Angeles and California surely need a daily dose of the post as an antidote to blasé and yellowed journalism which unfortunately proliferated,” said Thomson.
Los Angeles is home to a wide variety of media, including Los Angeles Times and numerous entertainment publications, such as Variety and The Hollywood Reporter, as well as more recent entrants, notably TMZ, which is Fox Corp property.
The California Post will be based in Los Angeles and led by Nick Papps, who has recently been editor-in-chief of the weekend at Herald Sun, a large Australian and subsidiary of News Corp. He was also correspondent on the west coast for the Herald Sun.
Having its headquarters outside the State did not prevent the New York Post from covering California News at length, but the post -chief of the post, Keith Poole, said that the publications would make the state one objective.
California “is the epicenter of entertainment, the AI revolution and advanced manufacturing – not to mention a sporting power,” said Poole in the press release, adding that it thinks that the state lacks “journalism based on problems.”
