The microSD cards are tiny but slow; The m.2 storage sticks on your PC are fast but larger and entirely closed. Now, a new type of SSD out of China could be the best of both worlds – and it is already ready to appear in two cutting -edge game laptops.
The Chinese storage manufacturer Biwin calls it the “mini SSD”, although another manufacturer calls it “1517”; It measures only 15 mm x 17 mm x 1.4 mm thick, smaller than an American penny and just slightly larger than the microSD.
