Government teams up with TikTok influencers over cosmetic surgery warnings

“By associating with Tiktok, we help people make safer and more informed choices before going under the knife – anywhere.”

Ministry of Foreign Affairs minister Stephen Doughty said: “Our goal is to explain the risks and help the British understand the actions they can take to keep themselves safe abroad.

“If you choose to travel abroad for medical treatment, it is essential that you are doing your research and that you are fully aware of the risks involved.

“We urge anyone who is considering medical procedure abroad to examine our travel advice, the relevant advice of the NHS and other professional organizations, and carefully search for foreign suppliers to ensure that they respond to the highest level of care.

“The informed choices today can help avoid serious complications tomorrow.”

The initiative comes after the ministers described the plans to reduce cosmetic procedures “Cowboy” by introducing new restrictions.
