Pam Bondi appoints the DEA administrator as a police chief of “ emergency ”

Washington – The Attorney General Pam Bondi also cemented Trump administrationThe DC application control of DC on Thursday by moving away the decision -making authority of his police chief and putting him at the head of the Drug Encompement Administration.

During an interview on Fox News, Bondi presented an overview of an order from the Ministry of Justice appointing DEA Terry Cole as “Emergency Police Commissioner” of the Metropolitan Police Department, a few days after President Donald Trump ordered the federal government to take control of the local police and deploy the National Guard in an effort to mitigate crime in the national capital.

“In force, the administrator of the administration of the drug application, Terrence C. Cole, will be the Emergency Police Commissioner of MPD during the period of the emergency declared by the president. Commissioner Cole will assume all the powers and functions devoted to the police chief of the District of Columbia”, the order of the Office of the Attorney General.

The order means that existing DC police officers, including chief Pamela Smith, will have to receive Cole approval before publishing other directives for the Department.

After a meeting with Bondi on Tuesday, the mayor of DC, Muriel Bowser, said that Smith was “operations directed to work with the federal government and the federal forces that will be in the district”.
