MSNBC to change its name to MS now in the middle of the spin-off of NBCUNIVERSAL

MSNBC will change its name into my world of opinion on Les Nouvelles (MS NOW) and will unveil a new logo later this year as part of the spin-off of the press channel of the media company belonging to Comcast NBCUNIVERSAL.

Comcast announced last year that it would run most of its cable television networks in a separate company listed on the stock market called slope. The new company will include MSNBC and the CNBC financial information channel as well as the USA Network, Oxygen, E!, Syfy and The Golf Channel.

Brand changes represent the emphasis put by side on “the construction of our individual identity and vision for the future while throwing a basis for the growth and continuous success of our businesses,” said the CEO of the side, Mark Lazarus, in a staff memo on Monday morning.

“The peacock is synonymous with nbcuniversal, and it is a symbol that they decided to keep in the NBCU family,” said Lazarus. “This gives us the opportunity to invoice our own path to follow, to create separate brand identities and to establish an independent press organization after the spin.”

The president of MSNBC, Rebecca Kutler, said that the network will not change the editorial management, saying in part: “Although our name changes, which we are and what we do will not. Our commitment to our work and our audience will not give up what the promise of the brand has been for three decades. ”

Comcast will keep nbcuniversal assets such as the NBC Broadcast Network, NBC News, NBC Sports, the Peacock streaming platform and the Bravo cable brand.
