The unexpected perspective, Aaron McKenna, upset the former world champion Liam Smith on Chris Eubank Jr against Conor Benn Undercard.
McKenna won a large unanimous decision, beating the old WBO Super-Welterweight 119-108, 117-109 and 118-108.
During the competition, the stadium around him broke out in jubilation when Chris Eubank Senior appeared on the big screen, arriving unexpectedly alongside his son before the main event.
The distance between the father and the son had been the subject of many public discussions, but their arrival together was completely unexpected.
While the drama swirled around the fight, Smith was fighting to dictate the future management of his career.
The Liverpudlian came out with high gloves, following in front. McKenna has doubled her blow and changed a moment in southern to land right in advance. The Grand Irishman looked clear while he was quickly relieving crunchy shots at first.
Smith slipped to exert additional pressure, but McKenna continued to trap her defenses. McKenna found more heads and pulled to the right at the end of the fourth round.
Agile movement next to it frustrated Smith as the young man landed fast shots.
He attached a right hook in the head and in the sixth round, with Smith inside where is normally so effective, it was McKenna who destroyed a tight uppercuts in the chin.
McKenna had a deducted point for the use of the elbow but did not seem disturbed.
On the seventh round, they stood to exchange punches, closely in the center of the ring. But when he found space, within reach, McKenna started to manage with apparent ease, keeping Smith after a salvo of light but precise punches.
McKenna remained dominant and in the 12th round, a left hook in the body reached his turn and dropped Smith on his knees.
McKenna slammed blows in his opponent, a great right grabbing Smith again around her head.
Smith was typically courageous until the end. He reduced the shots of the ropes, but his defense at this stage of his career was too porous and McKenna was a clear unanimous winner.
Anthony Marde crossed an attrition battle to beat Lyndon Arthur by a unanimous decision in their trilogy fight.
Arthur had outraged the Yarde during their first fight, despite an injury to the right arm, only for Marde to associate it in their revenge.
They were closely twinned during their third meeting, fighting through 12 hard towers. Yarde had to cringe forward and he lined Arthur’s body as he directed him to the ropes.
Arthur shot back and could catch clearly.
But the Londonian found big shots that struck Arthur’s head. The greatest weight of successes came from the Yarde, even though Arthur hammered the punches.
Yarde made the decision 115-113 and 116-112 twice and they finished their series with an embrace of mutual respect.
