Wimbledon, United Kingdom – Expectations will be high, as are temperatures in southwest London, when Carlos Alcaraz goes up to a short center for Defend his Wimbledon title Against Jannik Sinner on Sunday.
The next episode of an exciting rivalry between the two best players in male tennis will again rest under the spotlight at one of the biggest stages of the game – Tennis All England Lawn Tennis and Croquet Club – in a hot afternoon in the capital of the United Kingdom.
The double Wimbledon champion, Alcaraz, expects to be pushed to the limit by the world’s number one sinner at a meeting that has already made comparisons with the Grande Final de l’Eur Moderne.
“I expect to be on the limit, to be at stake (in the final),” said Alcaraz, speaking to the media a few moments after the sinner Semi-final almost without fault 6-3, 6-3, 6-4 against Novak Djokovic on Friday.
A few hours earlier, the Spaniard had reserved a place in his third consecutive final of Wimbledon with resilient performance against Taylor Fritz, which brought him a 6-4, 5-7, 6-6 (8-6) victory.
It will be the 13th meeting on the field between the two and their second final of the Grand Slam in the space of five weeks.
Their duel in the Final of the French Open lasted five hours and 29 minutes and added fuel to the ardent but friendly rivalry between young tennis stars.

A final rehearsal of the French Open on the cards?
Alcaraz knows his opponent too well and expects nothing less than another show.
“All that Jannik has is because he learned everything – he improves after each match, every day,” said Alcaraz about the seeded.
The Spaniard said he expected the sinner to be in better form mentally and physically for the Wimbledon final, but that he did not look forward to another match of several hours.
“I hope I don’t have half past five on the ground. But if I have to, I will do it. ”
Meanwhile, Sinner – the big, stoic and fast Italian that is held between Alcaraz and a chance to become the fifth man to win three consecutive Wimbledon titles – thinks that beating the holder will be “very difficult”.
“I am very happy to share the court with Carlos once again. It will be difficult, I know it,” said Sinner on Friday.
The Australian Open Champion said that he liked to play Grand Chelem – Sunday will be his fifth in two years.
“I always try to put myself in these kinds of situations that I really like. Sundays at each tournament are very special. ”
The 23 -year -old man in northern Italy qualified Alcaraz as a favorite, given his tournament record and on lawn.
“He is the favorite. He has won the last two times here. He is again in the final. It is very difficult to beat him on the grass, but I like these challenges.”
‘Fire vs ce’
Of the 12 opportunities that the two players met, four were at Grand Colem, but it was only their second meeting in the final.
The only other meeting of the pair in Wimbledon occurred in the fourth round in 2022, when Sinner won 6-1, 6-4, 6-7 (6-8), 6-3. Alcaraz, however, dismissed the reference by saying that the two men are changed players from what they were three years ago.
“We are completely different players on the grass and on all surfaces.”
The 22-year-old man from Murcia, in southeast Spain, will be supported by his 5-0 file against Sinner in the past two years.
Despite Alcaraz’s success against his sworn enemy, it was the sinner who has always exceeded the classification of men by accumulating victories and regular points on the ATP circuit.
All well considered, there is not much that separates the two before their long-awaited match.
Just ask Djokovic.
While the Grand Chelem champion 24 times chose Alcaraz because of his success spent in Wimbledon, Djokovic predicted “a very close match, as they had done in Paris” when he was asked to choose a winner.
“I think I’m going to give a slight advantage to Carlos because of the two titles he won here and the way he is playing and the confidence he has at the moment, but it’s just a slight advantage, because Jannik is hitting the ball extremely well.”
It is not only their contrasting game styles – Sinner relies on his reference game and his shooting speed, while Alcaraz likes to cover the court with his agile leg game and her excellent coverage – but also their personalities on the field that distinguish both while making a committing pair to watch.
Before the final of the French Open, Alcaraz declared in an interview that an analogy “Fire vs Ice” corresponded to them perfectly.

Going out in the shadows of some of the greatest players and rivals – Stefan Edberg vs Ivan Lendl, Bjorn Borg vs John McEnroe, Andre Agassi vs Pete Sampras and Rafael Nadal vs Roger Federer – The young players will have big shoes to fill.
The two are aware of the weight that their match has but refuses to be compared to their heroes for the moment.
“I think the things we are doing right now are great for tennis,” said Alcaraz before the final.
“We are just fighting to hire more people to watch tennis. We are fighting for tennis to be bigger, like all tennis players.
“For me, it’s sharing the big tournaments with Jannik, or simply playing in the tournament final … We are still very young.
“I hope to continue doing the right things for the next five to 10 years, so our rivalry is on the same table as these players.”
