Spanish police said on Tuesday that rescuers had found the body of a 27 -year -old American hiker who disappeared almost a month ago.
The authorities said that a team of rescuers had found Cole Henderson’s body in Ordesa National Park Monte Perdido, a Spanish national park in the mountain range along the Spanish border with France.
Henderson was missing on July 14, a few days after he was supposed to return home in the Netherlands, police announced. The 27 -year -old parked his car in the neighboring town of Torla on July 9 before starting his hike.
The police said they found Henderson’s body “in a difficult area to access on the north face of Monte Perdido, in the municipality of Bielsa, after a fall of about 200 meters”.
Henderson “has shown no sign compatible with life,” they added.
The Spanish authorities said they had deployed several teams of research rescuers, canine managers, research dogs and drone pilots to find Henderson.
