In the years that followed Matt and graphic designer Rachael Kirkconnell left its 2021 season together (then briefly separated and finally reunited), they faced many rumors of rupture.
“I think everyone needs to take a break in social media”, the former baccalaureate Exclusively said to E! News During a baskin-robbis event on July 18. “Our lives are so lived in front of our phones that when someone leaves their phone 24/7, people think it’s the end of the world.”
In fact, Matt said the wedding remains the end game for the pair.

But less than three years later, Matt announced that he and Rachael separated.
“Father God, gives Rachael and I the strength to repair our broken hearts,” wrote the star of reality Instagram January 16, 2025 alongside a return photo of them on The baccalaureate. “Give us a peace on this decision to put an end to our relationship which transcends understanding of the world. Shower our friends and our family with kindness and likes to comfort us. And we remind us that our joy comes from you, Lord.”
