The process aims to shape the next chapter of the country’s democracy, three decades after apartheid.
The president of South Africa, Cyril Ramaphosa, wants people to meet and speak.
He launched a process of national dialogue – presented as citizens led by citizens – for South Africans from all walks of life to decide how to meet the challenges of crime and corruption to poverty and inequalities.
But criticism say that his party, the African National Congress (ANC), was in power to do exactly that.
So, can a conference help to solve long-standing problems in the country?
Will the talks tackle the Divisions of the ANC?
And what is the next chapter for South African politics?
