Chelsea and their players agreed to give part of their Club World Cup award to Diogo Jota and Andre Silva’s family.
The Chelsea team received a bonus jar of 11.4 million pounds sterling to share with each other from the prices of winners of 87 million pounds sterling in silver.
Part of this amount will be given to the family of Jota and Silva and the decision was made jointly between the club and the team.
Tributes to Jota and Silva should be made throughout the opening weekend of the Premier League season.
Liverpool winger and his brother, who was also a Portuguese club player Penafiel, both died in a car accident in Spain on July 3.
The boss of Liverpool said last Thursday that he was extremely proud of how his premier League champions had treated tragedy.
He said: “This summer was difficult for everyone linked to the club. The death of Diogo Jota had a big impact on us all and is something that we always reconcile.
“We cannot imagine the pain that Diogo’s family, his wife, children and friends are going through, and the club will continue to provide them with all the support they can in the future.
“The death of Diogo had a great impact on us all, but what was so important was the love and care shown from the world of football, and in particular the Liverpool FC community.
“I also want to mention the strength and the courage of my players here. They found themselves in one of the most difficult positions imaginable, but the way they gathered and the way they got into, on and out of the field, is a credit for them and for this football club.
“We really couldn’t have asked for more boys and I am extremely proud of everyone.
“We will always wear Diogo with us in our hearts, in our thoughts, wherever we go.”
