The English Paceman Jofra Archer marked his return to first class action for Sussex with a counter on the second day of the match of the division a championship of the Rothesay county in Durham.
Sussex resumed 322-9, after seeing Archer makes a late cameo with the bat Sunday for a swift 31James Coles finishing undefeated on the 148 because they were finally dismissed for 361.
Archer – Playing his first red ball game for Sussex since May 2021 following a series of injuries – struck the 33rd when he trapped Emilio Gay LBW for 37.
Durham continued to reach 249-5 in Stumps, with Colin Ackermann Marquant 65 and Graham Clark Invainu on 45, while Acher finished with figures of 1-28 of his 14-year-old fate.
“Now I know that my body can hold on, the mental part of the game (is a bigger problem),” said Archer BBC Radio Sussex.
“In the coming days, I’m going to have a battle with that. It’s good. I’m going to continue to crash. When the dashboard has arrived at 50 overs, I said to myself:” It’s time to detach yourself now “, but we arrived at the end of the day and it was not so bad.”
Archer could still get into the calculation of the five -game game test series against India this summer, before a winter tour in Australia, after presenting the last time for the test in February 2021.
When asked if he felt ready to go back to test the cricket, Archer replied: “I guess yes. I just want to spend the game. I’m happy to have finished a day of cricket on four days.”
In division two, the captain of Lancashire, James Anderson, chose two first counters against Kent to help reject visitors for 374.
ANDERSON – England of all time, the test of the test ticket office – made a breakthrough during the morning session on Monday when he rejected Jack Penchant (four) of his first ball of the day, then brought Joey Evison out for a 12 ball duck during his next.
The opener of Kent Ben Compton completed his century, finally rejected the 135, before the Lancashire – without regular skipper Marcus Harris because of the birth of his second child – finished 120-1 and with Luke Wells 57 not released.
