Emma Raducanu admits that she must “put my head in the game” before Wimbledon after leaving the Eastbourne Open.
Raducanu almost achieved an incredible return in his second round match against Maya Joint before losing a break in final equality.
The 22 -year -old revealed Tuesday after her opening victory that she had received “very bad news” and who seemed to affect her against the joints when she seemed moderate in the court.
With her big home at home around the corner, Raducanu says she has to concentrate.
“Unfortunately, I could not cross the line today, but I can rest before next week,” she said to Bbc.
“I feel quite tired. I just got into things and I have to do my best to put my head in the game before next week.
“Realisticly, the turnaround is very soon – it’s just four days that Wimbledon begins.
“I think I’m just going to start with (one day off) tomorrow (Thursday) and I hope I can get on the field on Friday.”
The British No. 1 seemed to beat in his battle in the second round with the Australian, dragging 5-2 in the decisive set.
But she produced an inspired spell, breaking the joint three times when she was used for the match, to establish a break in equality.
The victory was in sight when she obtained a mini-RUP to carry out 4-3, but won four successive points to win a victory of 4-6 6-1 7-6 and switch to the quarter-finals.
Joint said: “Today was really difficult, there were a lot of ups and downs, I was happy to have hardened it at the end.
“I’m really happy to have been able to win this match.”
Jodie Burrage became the second Briton in two days to miss match points to oust former Wimbledon Barbora Krejcikova champion.
Twenty-four hours after Harriet Dart pushed the victory, Burrage, British No 7, was 0-40 on the Czech service at 6-5 in the decisive set, but it could not exceed the line, Krejcikova winning the equality break.
In the male draw, the recent cover of Dan Evans in good shape continued with a victory outside competition on the world n ° 13 Tommy Paul.
The 35-year-old is trying to find his way up of the game after changing the ranking and results like this will help you.
He ousted the seeded n ° 2 6-4 3-6 6-3 to set up equality in the quarter-finals with American Jenson Brooksby.
The lucky loser Billy Harris continued to take advantage of his reprieve, winning 6-3 6-4 against Mattia Bellucci, but British No. 2 Jacob Fearnley was released, losing 6-3 6-1 against Marcos Giron.
