Thomas Tuchel continued his perfect beginning of life with the three Lions while England won a 3-0 victory against Latvia during their second qualifier of the World Cup.

Reece James marked her first international departure in more than two and a half years with a first superb game just before the break, curling his free kick in the upper corner after a low Latvian block frustrated Tuchel’s men for a large part of the opening stages.

“I saw the wall and I felt that I could fold it, fortunately, he struck the back of the net. I was surprised that he hit the net, I thought the goalkeeper could have done it but looking at the replay, it was difficult for him.

On Thomas Tuchel: “His ideas are clear. He set his goals and targets from the minute he entered. We have a goal, it starts during these internationals and we have to continue building to the World Cup.”
