Ex-siri head would have liked Apple to choose the Gemini of Google on Chatgpt

The former head of Siri John Giannandrea pushed Apple to choose the Gemini chatbot of Google on Chatgpt for the first integration of the chatbot with Siri last year, according to a Bloomberg Report by looking at the unequal efforts of Apple AI.

Giannandrea, an ex-executive google that was demoted in a leadership reshuffle in Marchthought that the Openai bot would not have power and did not protect sensitive personal data. Despite these concerns, Apple announced Chatgpt integration on WWDC in 2025 and made the functionality available for Users in December.

Apple integration allows users to type chatgpt in cases where Siri is unable to answer a question. Last year, Apple announced that it would connect additional chatbots, Including Google Geminito Siri.

Apple is also in preliminary talks with the perplexity of the search engine fueled in AI to provide perplexity as a Chatgpt alternative in Siri and a research provider in the company’s safari browser, according to Bloomberg.
