Facebook will soon deploy the support for Passkeys on Android and iOS

Facebook deploys the support for Passkeys on iOS and Android, the social network announcement Wednesday.

Passkey connections make it more difficult for bad players to remotely access your accounts because they require physical access to your phone. Unlike standard connections, Passkeys uses the front ID or contact ID, a brooch or physical security authentication key to validate connections.

Passkeys deletes the need to rely on user and password combinations, which can be sensitive to phishing problems and other problems.

Facebook says Passkeys will also start to move to Messenger in the coming months and that users will be able to use the same Passkey for the two services.

Passkeys can also be used for payment information automatically when making purchases using Meta Pay, says Facebook.

To configure a passing key, you access the new “Passkey” option in the Center accounts in the Settings menu on Facebook. Once it is configured, you can start using your Passkey to connect to Facebook on your phone. You can always use other authentication methods, such as your password, to access your account so that you can always access the social network when you use a device that does not support pass keys.

Facebook is one of the many technological companies to introduce Passkey support in the past year. Other big names that have made it include Apple,, Microsoft,, Amazon,, Google,, Paypal,, Tiktok,, Whatsapp,, XAnd Girub.
