Salford Red Devils Fan Group, the 1873, announced on Sunday a “peaceful and legitimate protest” before the match of the super league of their team against Wakefield Trinity.
The competition being a home game, the group of fans on foot of the Salford City Roosters Rugby Club and will follow a route which will end at the Salford Community Stadium.
The event should campaign for “greater communication, transparency and responsibility for club ownership”.
Fans and all those who frequent have been invited to bring club colors, banners and flags to show “unity and pride”.
A spokesperson for 1873 said: “This event concerns respect – respect for the history of the club, its supporters and its community.
“We ask the property to get involved significantly and transparent with the people who stand next to this week after week.
“This is a peaceful, but important step.”
The troubles among Salford fans have been increasing for several months with the future of the club in danger.
In February, a consortium led by the businessman Dario Berta bought the club, after being placed under a sustainability salary of 1.2 million pounds sterling by the RFL, with a series of players leaving the club in the following months, including Captain Ryan Brierley.
A recent declaration of the Rugby Football League (RFL) qualified the financial problems of Salford as “damage and draining for sport”, insisting that the “only alternative” to the approval of a redemption of property earlier this year was the “very likely and immediate disappearance of the club”.
Consortium members, Saia Kailahi and Curtiz Brown, attended the Salford matches.
Salford also relied on the external financing of Wedo Finance while their accounts remain frozen, while last month, they were struck by a liquidation petition with a adjourned audience until September 3.
However, in response to the growing uncertainty surrounding the club and after a defeat of 80-6 against the Hull FC on the weekend during which Salford had to rely on additional players from the whole competition since 13 players left during the season, the club published an insistent statement that they “will not do”.
“Despite the recent setbacks, the club is creating a new team to stabilize operations in the future, in parallel with the guarantee of the financing of bridges which restores immediate financial stability and lays the foundations for a sustainable future,” he said.
“This marks a turning point and underlines the long -term commitment of the consortium towards the Red Devils.”
When he was contacted, the RFL said he had no additional comments for the declaration published on Friday.
