Fortnite returns to iOS in Australia after a legal victory against Apple

Epic has spent the last five years fighting purchase policies in Apple’s application. Now, after half a decennia, the Epic Games store and Fortnite will be available again on iOS in Australia. A judge noted that Apple’s conduct probably reduced competition, in part to not authorize alternative payment methods, The Australian Financial Review reports.

In a post on x (Formerly Twitter), announced Epic: “An Australian court has just noted that Apple and Google abuse their control over the distribution of applications and payments in application to limit competition. There are more than 2,000 pages of results in which we will have to dig to fully understand the details. This is a victory for developers and consumers in Australia!”

Epic started this battle when she bypassed the purchasing method in Apple’s application, using hers. This decision meant that Apple lost its 30% drop in all sales. Apple prohibited the epic and a long-standing back and forth followed. In April, a in the United States that Apple could no longer collect commissions on unpaid purchases via the App Store. Epic games and Fortnite returned to Us App Store in May.
