Gareth Bale confirmed that he was part of a consortium that seeks to buy majority interest in the Sky Bet League One Cardiff club.
Bale, who is the top scorer of all Wales countries, described the prospect of linking to his hometown club as “a dream come true”.
The group involving Bale would have made a first investigation earlier this month, which was rejected by the owner of the Bluebirds, Vincent Tan.
Speaking on the red carpet during the first F1: the film, said Bale Sky Sports: “We are interested in getting Cardiff. This is my original club, that’s where I grew up and my uncle played for them.
“Being involved in a property group would be a dream come true.”
It was recently linked to a group that failed in an attempt reported to take over Plymouth, which, like Cardiff, was relegated to the championship last season.
Bale added: “It’s (Cardiff) is a club that is close to my heart. This is where I grew up and I would like to be able to be part of Cardiff’s growth and take it in the Premier League where it belongs.
“I know how incredible Welsh fans and Cardiff fans are. It would be incredible to try to do something together.
“We are trying to get involved with Cardiff and more news will come on this subject in the future, but I hope we can do something.”
Bale could be about to follow in the footsteps of former teammate Luka Modric while the Real Madrid star joined Swansea City as an investor and co -owner.
The 39 -year -old Croatian captain has spent the last 13 seasons with Real Madrid and has helped them win six Champions League titles after a four -year spell in Tottenham earlier in his distinguished career.
Swansea did not reveal how Modric, who won the Ballon d’Or in 2018, had invested, but he expressed his excitement during the use of his knowledge to help Welsh outfit.
Modric said: “This is an exciting opportunity. Swansea has a strong identity, an incredible fans base and the ambition to compete at the highest level.”
