Google Calendar is now on the Apple Watch

Apple’s native calendar application on Watchos includes personalization options that allow you to see alternative views, such as a summary of the week and a full month. But the Google Calendar application displays only a week of events on your Apple Watch with its time and location, as well as Google tasks in a simple list view showing the day of the week in the upper corner while you scroll.

You can click on an event to see additional details, but it’s very limited. You are invited to “open the calendar on your phone to display more” if you want more details. According to 9TO5GOOGLEThe application functionality is very similar to what is offered on OS Wear devices.

There are also two available home screen complications. The date of today circular shows the abbreviated day of the week and the date, while the next step, which can be a circle, a rectangle or a smart battery widget, shows your next meeting. The two complications can be used to open the Google Calendar Watchos application.

Although this can be a welcome option for those who want as much Google on their Apple Watch as possible (Google Keep, Maps and YouTube Music are the only other Watchos applications that the company offers), the standard Calendar application can already synchronize with your Google calendar and allows you to see more details for a given event.
