Google deploys new AI and accessibility features in Android and Chrome

Google also announced today that it updated expressive legends, the functionality of real -time legends of Android that uses AI to capture what someone says and how they say it.

Google says that it is aware that one of the ways that people are expressed is to drag the sound of their words, which is why it has developed a new duration functionality on expressive legends. Now you will know if a sports advertiser calls a “stroke of amaaazing” or when someone does not just say “no” but “nooooo”. You will also start to see new labels for sounds, such as when a person whistles or emerges from the throat.

The update takes place in English in the United States, the United Kingdom, Canada and Australia for devices running Android 15 and more.

Google also facilitates access to PDFs on Chrome. Until now, you could not use your screen player to interact with a scanned PDF in your desk chrome browser. Now Chrome automatically recognizes these types of PDF, allowing you to highlight, copy and search for text like any other page and use your screen player to read them. It is thanks to the introduction of optical character recognition (OCR), known as Google.

In addition, the page zoom on Chrome on Android now allows you to increase the size of the text you see without affecting the layout of the web page. You can customize the quantity you want to zoom, then choose to apply the preference to all the pages you visit, or simply some.
