American immigration and customs application stopped at least 44 people on Friday during a raid in downtown Los Angeles.

The staff of the border patrol stood in front of an industrial park in the city of Paramount, dressed in gaps of riot equipment and gas masks, while passers-by mocked.
“ICE (Immigration and Customs Enforcement) of Paramount. We see you for what you are,” said a woman via a megaphone. “You are not welcome here.”
A portable panel said: “No human being is illegal.”
The boulevard was closed to traffic while the American border patrol circulated the area.
Ice arrested at least 44 people on Friday after having executed searches in several places, including a clothing warehouse in what opponents have described as an “oppressive and vile paramilitary operation”.
The raids quickly sparked demonstrations and demonstrators blocked the entries and outings of the Edward R Royal Federal Building in downtown Los Angeles, where prisoners were under treatment.
The American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) denounced the raids and described the immigration authorities as “masked hands”.
“We call on our elected officials to maintain their commitment to all Angelenos – immigrants and non -immigrants – taking all the necessary measures to grind this oppressive and vile paramilitary operation to stop our city in full security,” the statement said.
Main help of the White House, and Trump’s main supporter, Stephen Miller, wrote on X on Saturday that the demonstrations against ice raids were an “insurrection against laws and sovereignty of the United States”.
In a separate position, Miller said that Los Angeles police chief Jim McDonnell was partial with “invaders on citizens” after declaring that his officers would not help ice.
The repression of immigration is part of President Donald Trump’s promise to deport a record number of people illegally living in the country, while the White House has set a goal for ice to stop at least 3,000 immigrants per day.
The mayor of Karen Bass firmly condemned the raids on Friday: “These tactics are in our communities and disturb the basic principles of security in our city. We will not defend this ”.
The acting director of the ice, Todd Lyons, criticized the declaration of Bass, saying that the mayor had taken the side of “chaos and anarchy on the police”.
“Make no mistake, the ice will continue to enforce the immigration laws of our country and to stop illegal criminal foreigners,” said Lyons.
