An influencer of fitness on social media known as “king of the liver” was arrested on Tuesday after having published threatening messages addressed to the popular podcaster Joe Rogan on social networks, police said.
The Austin police department said in a statement that he had arrested Brian Johnson after learning that he went to Austin, where Rogan saw, and threatening the very influential podcaster in a series of videos he published on Instagram.
“Joe Rogan, I’m calling you, the king of the liver of my name. Man to the man, I take a fight with you,” Johnson said in a video He posted on Monday. “I have no training in Jiu-Jitsu, you are a black belt, you should dismantle me. But I choose a fight with you. Your period, I will come to you, every time you are ready.”
In another video he published that day, he also put Rogan to fight “Man to Man”.
“You never meet something like that, willing to die, hoping that you are choking me that you are choking me that you are a dream come true,” said Johnson.
Police said they had contacted Rogan on Tuesday, who told them that he had never interacted with Johnson and considered the threatening posts.
Later in the day, Johnson was apprehended at the Hotel Four Seasons and accused of terrorist threat, a class B offense, police announced.
The representatives of Johnson and Rogan did not immediately return the requests for comments.
The videos of the “King of the Liver” promote what he describes as the “ancestral lifestyle”, which includes the consumption of large quantities of raw meat and animal organs, in particular the liver of animals. His food techniques were criticized by nutritionists to distribute disinformation.
Johnson has never been the guest of Rogan’s very successful podcast. However, Johnson and his alleged use of steroids – which Johnson initially denied, then apologized later – was the subject of one of the episodes of Rogan podcast in 2023, which has more than 8.7 million views on YouTube.
