Jill Sobule, “I Kissed a Girl” Singer, Dead at 66

The world of music cries sudden loss.

Jill SobuleThe singer-songwriter better known for his 1995 single “I Kisshed a Girl”, died on May 1 in a house fire in Minneapolis at 66, his confirmed representative at Variety.

“Jill Sobule was a force of nature and the human rights defender whose music is woven in our culture”, his manager John Porter said in a press release at the exit. “I had so much fun working with her. I lost a client and a friend today. I hope that his music, memory and heritage will continue to live and inspire others. ”
