One of King Charles III‘s Summer Home takes a royal break from the public’s eyes.
Balmoral castle, the family domain In Aberdeenshire, in Scotland, announced a temporary closure due to a strong summer storm affecting the United Kingdom.
“Balmoral will be closed to the public today, Monday August 4, due to Storm Floris,” said the domain Declaration published on Instagram August 4. “Please do not travel in the succession. We make reimbursements for tickets to visit today.”
The message added: “Stay safe everyone.”
Indeed, the conditions of the storm are unusually intense for the summer season, the United Kingdom Meteorological Office issuing an Amber and Yellow Warning in Scotland, by The Associated Press.
The unexpected closure of Balmoral one day comes after the residence – whose royal family is known to stay in the end of each summer –announcement that it should be close to the public for the season on August 10.
The announcement noted that Balmoral is “the Highlands house of the royal family, offering a unique overview of the royal heritage and the sustainable inheritance of the monarchy”.
