Lando Norris hopes that McLaren’s teammate Oscar Piastri has granted an impartial reception of the crowd of the British Grand Prix at home when the title competes with his championship fight in Silverstone this weekend.
In what seems more and more likely to prove an All-McLaren duel for the pilot championship, the pair of papaya is now divided by only 15 points in the classification after Norris warmed up for his home race by beating the leader of the title Piastri to the victory in the Austrian Grand Prix.
Given his relaxation status, Norris is sure to receive a particularly strong support in Silverstone – where for the first time he also has his gallery on his behalf, a closed “landostand” of 10,000 people located in Stowe Corner.
Sitting side by side at the press conference after Sunday’s race after their fourth one two of the season, Piastri d’Australia was asked if he had concerns about receiving a reception hostile to Norris’ home event.
Norris first replied, saying: “I mean, I certainly hope that this part will not happen.
“British fans are normally very accepted for all of us and especially for us as McLaren.
“So I think the first point should be for everyone to kiss everyone and support everyone.”

Having run for Woker McLaren since 2023, Piastri then declared that he had always received good support from fans of Silverstone, although he recognized that he would still be natural that Norris will take advantage of this particular weekend.
“A few years ago, they sang my name in the crowd, so it was unexpected,” said Piastri.

“I’m not sure I get everything again, which is fairly fair. I have the impression that fans in general this year were a little nicer for us.
“We didn’t even have the fans of Max Verstappen who sink to us today, so it was a good change. They have always accepted me a lot.
“Obviously, I run for a British team, and I think these are big fans of everything that Papaya and it both understands. I expect that there are many more Lando fans than my fans, but it’s just. It’s also its home race, so I think it will go.”

British officials from the Grand Prix do not expect problems either.
Stuart Pringle, managing director of Silverstone, said Sky Sports News: “I am absolutely certain. Everyone loves good sport here in Silverstone and it is a great battle at the front among these two teammates.
“We have competent fans here, people who love sport.
“Silverstone delivers many times. Seventy-five years of running here and he continues to give us big races with this modern generation of cars.”
“A place that I want to earn more than more”
The nature of his impressive victory in front of Piastri at the Red Bull Ring will likely be that Norris is favorable to Triumph in Silverstone, where he has finished second and third respectively in each of the last two seasons.
A first realistic chance of a home victory escaped, however, last year due to strategy errors in a race of modifiable weather conditions.
Twelve months later when he is preparing for his seventh British general practitioner, said Norris Sky Sports F1: “I’m excited.
“It’s the best race of the year. I have my own forum and everything, so very excited.”
He added in the press conference: “I don’t think there is more pressure. Of course, it’s a place I want to win more than everywhere else, but it doesn’t change anything. It just puts a little more smiling on my face every morning when I wake up.
“It probably distracts me much more than anything. Now I have my own platform, and I have more reasoning for different things. More positive distraction, I would say, more than pressure.”
