A man from New York State was criminally charged for allegedly tracked down and harassed from the CEOs of the CEO of health care, Brian Thompson, authorities announced on Wednesday.
Shane Daley, 40, was arrested And accused of having “sent harassed and threatening voice messages to a family member of the murdered CEO of Unitedhealthcare, Brian Thompson”, according to a statement by federal prosecutors in Albany.
The threatening calls were made between December 4 and December 7 of last year during the hours just after Thompson was shot in the New York Midtown district.
“In a series of vocal messages, Daley used a threatening and harassing language on which, among other things, the murder of Thompson, expressed his satisfaction on the fact and the manner of his death, and said that the victim and children of Thompson deserved to meet the same violent end,” said prosecutors.
The murder of Thompson sparked waves of praise insensitive to his killer, Immediately after filming.
Daley is from Galway, New York, about 35 miles northwest of the state capital of Albany.
He was not immediately clear if Daley had hired or had been assigned to a lawyer to speak on his behalf.
Christopher Raia, assistant director in charge of the FBI office in New York, said that the suspect’s calls were “more than insensitive and cold. They threatened and terrified a family already suffering after the violent death of their loved one,” he said.
