England striker Marcus Rashford said Barcelona was a club where “dreams come true” when he joined the Liga champions on a loan throughout the Manchester United season, with a purchase option at the end of the 2025-26 season.
Media reports indicate that Barcelona would cover Rashford wages this season after the player has accepted a salary reduction, with the possibility of buying around 30 million euros ($ 35.25 million) for the 27 -year -old.
“Very excited. I think it is a club where people ‘dreams come true. They earn big prices. And what the club really represents a lot for me too. So I feel like I am at home,” Rashford told journalists after his unveiling on Wednesday.
“Another factor is that the conversations I had with the manager (Hansi Flick) were positive. What he did last season was great.
“To lead such a young team to a very successful season and come back to the pre-season and want to do more, it shows me everything I thought about the club, and that’s all I wanted.”
Once considered a club icon and a local star, Rashford had a dramatic fall from Grace to United, marked by a fall with manager Ruben Amorim who paved the way to move to Aston Villa on loan in February.
“(Manchester United) is in a period of change, and they have been so for some time. I have nothing wrong to say because it was an important part not only of my career, but in my life, so I was grateful for this opportunity,” he added.
“But like life, everything is not going as simple as you think, and it is my next chapter, and I am fully focusing on the improvement of improving and helping the team win trophies.”
Barcelona said Rashford had signed his contract earlier Wednesday afternoon. “Rashford can play anywhere in attack. Pot to the right, he can take players and is an excellent finisher, talents he can now show in a barça shirt,” the club said in a statement.
Second lucky time with a Barça loan agreement
The move to Barcelona intervened after Rashford, born in Manchester, who made 426 senior appearances and scored 138 goals for United in all the competitions, fell into disgrace with Amorim, who questioned his work rate.
Rashford, who won two FA cups, two championship cups and a Europa league title with United, joined Aston Villa on loan after Morim said he prefers to put a goalkeeper on the bench that a player does not give them everything.
United published a press release wishing Rashford to be well by announcing the agreement with Barcelona.

The attacker, who scored 17 goals for England in 62 appearances, said he felt more fit and better after joining Villa, where he scored two goals in 10 league games, while United had his worst Premier League campaign, finishing 15th in the ranking.
Rashford said he wanted to move to Barça during the mid-season transfer window when he joined Villa.
“I was clear on my preference (to join Barcelona) from the start. In fact, perhaps in January. It didn’t work in January, so I went to Villa and I enjoyed a good time there,” he said.
“It was time to make another decision. My choice was easy. (Barcelona) is a family club, something I am used to from my past. I feel at home. “
Barcelona is expected to play three pre-season friendly games in Japan and South Korea from July 27.
