Yulia Putinteva retaliated to Maria Sakkari after their fiery exchange at the Bad Homburg Open in Germany has become viral.
Sakkari defeated the Spelli 7-5 7-6 (8-6) in a close meeting before the pair shakes hands and exchange of insults.
One of the comments made by Sakkari to Poutintseva that the microphone picked up was “when you shake your hand, look them in the eyes” followed by “no one likes”.
In her at the court interview, the former World No 3 Sakkari said: “I don’t think she will invite me for dinner for the rest of our lives, but I don’t care.
“I have very good friends and I will dine with them. Let me leave him here, and just say that I have respect for her as a player, but that’s it.”
On Monday, Putinteseva posted on her Instagram story “Besides – not that I cared about – I led her hand like most women. Clearly not according to the” Cuddling Protocol “that some men seem to follow.”
FUTINTEVA also republished a video from the Instagram account Tennis impulse What showed a Sunday incident clip where Sakkari said “when you shake hands, look at the other person in the eyes”, before going to the Greek place shaking the hand of Emma Raducanu and Martina Trevisan in different games. In both cases, Sakkari’s head did not look at his opponent in the photos.
In the same video, Poutinteva published a legend of “and the intrigue thickens …” with an emoji clown.
Last year, Putinteva apologized after an awkward exchange with a ball girl when she was released from the third round.
A video circulated who showed a ball girl throwing two bullets with Poutinteva, who looked at her without moving while the bullets bounced and along the ground.
The 30-year-old woman lost 6-3 6-4 against Italian Jasmine Paolini and blamed two shortened breaks in the sixth game of the second as a cause of her moved frustration.
