Stephen Bunting won an exciting 12-10 victory on Gary Anderson to reserve his place in his second quarter-final of the world matchplay at the Blackpool winter gardens.
The fight marked the 18th meeting between the pillars of Dard. Anderson had a 13-4 file in his favor, but Bunting managed to repel and make 13-5 at the end of the epic competition.
Scotsman Anderson had the score far superior as the match started, but could not capitalize to run, with a doubling by exchanging the two players while the match was moving into a score line of 3-2.
Bunting then managed to trigger the match in life while he was taking five legs in a row for an advantage of 9-7. “The bullet” was eight darts in a nine darter in the 15th stage to send the crowd to the frenzy.

However, the fighter in constant fight against Anderson was not finished and managed to get back to take four legs on the rotation to level the match at 10-10 and take him to the extraordinary peak. “The Bullet” pushed strongly to hold and then break the Anderson launch for the monumental victory.
“I was so nervous by playing a legend of sport on this scene, I tried to put it in mind but during the match, I just couldn’t,” said Bunting Sky Sports.

“I am satisfied with victory but I just have to go to bed – I’m broken.
“I have massive respect for Gary. He is a quality operator, he is one of the best players to honor the steps.
“What a victory in my career. We leave.
“I felt nervous anyway. I had (my family) with us tonight, but we are done and I can relax now.”
An imperious James Wade Cruisa until her 13th quarter-final of the world with a brilliant projection of 11-5 against Wessel Nijman. A high average of 102.53 stressed how strong it was.

James Wade struck three massive tones, including a 126 on the Bullseye
During his 20th consecutive appearance at Match, Wade looked in the area and marked well at the start. A crucial rupture to launch and around 108 means during the first session gave him the advance 3-2.
This upper Wade score continued, but the two players won two breaks. A Wade 121 finish to hold on to the eighth leg gave him the key moment to ride 6-4.

“I took advantage of bad opportunities for the young man,” said Wade.
“I haven’t been too far for five years. The young man made a lot of mistakes, the crowd was incredible and I think it helped a little.
“It’s the best version of me, winner. I don’t care about the averages and points, I was just happy to win.
“If you are doing well, your doubles will follow. It was not an incredible performance, I was lucky that the young boy did not play as he could.”

The second round continues on Wednesday July 23 with four other huge games from 7 p.m. on Sky Sports Action and Main Event.
