Microsoft presented a dark fashion option for the first time in Windows 10 in 2016But there were still a lot of areas of the operating system that looked like a meli-melo of light and dark modes. Almost a decade later, the latest Windows 11 overview version now includes even darker user interface elements.

I don’t have much hope, however. Microsoft took a few years to add a Dark File to Explorer In Windows 10, after shipping the operating system with a mixture of clear and dark modes. Apple has long been a coherent dark mode in macOS because it has shipped With MacOS Mojave in 2018. A new Liquid glass overhaul is even on the way later this year, with a greater accent on translussity.
