More than 100 human rights aid and defense groups have called on governments to take urgent measures while the forced “mass famine” of Israel of the Palestinians is committed to Gaza, including by demanding an immediate and permanent cease-fire and the lifting of all restrictions on humanitarian aid.
In a press release signed and published Wednesday by 109 organizations, including Merwegian Refugee Council and doctors without borders (also known as MSF), groups have warned that the deepening of the famine of the population was spread through the besieged enclave.
Tons of food, drinking water, medical supplies and other items are intact just outside Gaza, as humanitarian organizations are prevented from access or deliver them by Israel.
“While the headquarters of the Israeli government faces the inhabitants of Gaza, the workers of neighboring advents now join the same food lines, risking being slaughtered just to feed their families. The supplies are now completely exhausted, humanitarian organizations are witnesses of their own colleagues and partners wasting before their eyes,” said organizations.
“The humanitarian system cannot hold on false promises … The government of restrictions, delays and fragmentation of the Government of Israel under its total seat has created chaos, famine and death,” the statement added.
According to the Ministry of Health, ten new deaths related to famine and malnutrition have been recorded in the last 24 hours by hospitals in the Gaza Strip.
The dark count brings the total number of hungry people to death in the territory at 111, according to the ministry’s press release.
In recent weeks, More than 1,000 desperate people were killed while trying to reach foodMainly in mass fire by Israeli soldiers displayed near the GHF distribution centers, according to the United Nations. The notorious group, supported by the United States and Israel, was fiercely criticized by humanitarian organizations, including the UN, for an alleged lack of neutrality since the start of operations in late May.
NGOs have also called on governments to demand that all bureaucratic and administrative restrictions be lifted, that all Terrian passages be opened, access to all to Gaza to ensure and the rejection of a distribution controlled by the military and a restoration of a “humanitarian response not directed by principles and not directed”.
“States must pursue concrete measures to end the seat, such as interrupting the transfer of weapons and ammunition.”
More than two dozen countries Called Monday for an immediate end to war, saying that suffering in Gaza had “reached new depths”.
THE The EU also warned Israel Action on the worsening of the famine crisis in Gaza, while the United States said that Trump’s envoy, Steve Witkoff, will go to Europe for cease-fire talks and a “corridor”.
Israel, which controls all supplies, food, drugs and fuel entering Gaza, imposed a punitive blockade for months, only driving it for GHF. The Israeli government denies that it is responsible for the food shortage, despite the evidence of the contrary, saying that 950 aid trucks were in Gaza and expected that international agencies could collect and distribute it.
Hamas has urged “all free people in the world” to organize demonstrations, sit-ins and “angry steps” on July 25, 26, 27 and “every next days, until the seat is broken and famine ends” in Gaza.
“(…) People die of hunger and malnutrition, and famine makes its mortal presence feel on the faces of children, mothers and the elderly, in the midst of a suspicious world silence, and the absence of any action that increases on a disaster scale,” said his statement on Telegram.
The GHF said in a press release that the UN, which refuses to work with it, “has an operational capacity and problem” and called for “more collaboration” to provide vital aid.
Mara Bernasconi, the regional director of communications and advocacy for Humanity & Inclusion UK, an NGO with teams working in Gaza, told Al Jazeera that Gaza is at the “peak level of famine”.
She said that humanitarian workers living in Gaza are not excluded from this suffering and have known “death, hunger, displacement, danger” for 21 months of war.
“They have trouble concentrating and working (while doing their work) because they directly face the effect of dehydration and malnutrition, and we look at them starving, and it is crazy, because it is an artificial humanitarian crisis and deteriorates daily because it is permitted by impunity and inaction,” said Bernasconi.
Medical staff and journalists continue to work under an intensive constraint, aggravated by their own hunger.
“We are continuing our work despite the famine for spread and the serious shortage of food supplies. I have not had a single meal in the last two days, and I barely hold,” Raja al-Attar, ambulance driver, Al Jazeera, told Al-Jazeera.
“My family is also in trouble – they cannot access even the most fundamental necessities. We were forced to flee our house in Deir El-Balah because of the current military operation. Right now, I’m sleeping at my workplace, because there is nowhere to go. ”
